Help in a Crisis for Young People and Adults
Sudan Psychology Services is unable to offer crisis support services outside of appointments. The following services may be appropriate in meeting your needs:
- Your GP or out of hours GP service may be able to help with your concerns
- NHS 111 for advice and support
- If you need urgent NHS mental health support you can call Leicestershire Partnerships NHS Trust Mental Health Central Access Point. This is a 24/7 freephone helpline for people of all ages in Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland 0808 800 3302. Offering round-the-clock access to urgent support, signposting and referral for yourself or on behalf of someone else
- If you have taken an overdose, or do not feel you can keep yourself safe, or have concerns about someone else’s safety then call 999 or go to A&E
Support Lines
Samaritans providing emotional support to anyone in emotional distress, struggling to cope, or at risk of suicide.
SANEline is a national out-of-hours mental health helpline offering specialist emotional support, guidance and information to anyone affected by mental illness, including family, friends and carers. They are open every day of the year from 4.30pm to 10.30pm.
Mind provides information on a range of mental health topics to support people in their own area from 9.00am to 6.00pm, Monday to Friday.
Shout is a free, 24/7 mental health text support in the UK
Childline is free to contact on 0800 1111. Childline counsellors are there to take calls from children and young people under 19: 7.30am to 3.30am Monday to Friday and 9am to 3.30am Saturday to Sunday.

- Anxiety UK runs a helpline staffed by volunteers with personal experience of anxiety from 9:30-5:30, Monday to Friday. Call 08444 775 774.
- Citizens Advice provides free, independent and confidential advice for a range of problems as well as providing information on your rights and responsibilities.

- MindEd is a free educational resource on children and young people’s mental health for all adults.
